Development and review of scripts and templates to ensure clarity, speed, and consistency when delivering critical information during an emergency. Scripts and templates are tailored to the type of emergency, the communication channel (e.g., email, text message, phone script, social media, internal memos), and the institution's culture.
Evaluation of communication channels (e.g., email, text message, phone script, social media, internal memos) utilized to inform the campus of emergencies to ensure timely and accurate communications are delivered in an efficient manner.
Review of policies and practices for issuing timely warnings and emergency notifications to ensure Clery Act compliance.
Address what happened, what actions were taken, and how future incidents will be prevented. Ensure that post incident communications are delivered in a calm, honest, and reassuring tone that restores trust, provides transparency, and demonstrates leadership.
